Hyphen's response to the coronavirus

During this difficult time, keeping our staff, clients and suppliers safe and informed is our top priority.

Statement from Hyphen’s CEO, Eddie Miles

Issued on the 29th May 2020

“After several weeks we have all become familiar with life under lockdown. Like most people, I have found this time to have been frustrating, worrying and occasionally depressing. Equally though, the period which I have seen referred to as ‘the great pause’ has been a time to nurture better connections with family, friends and colleagues. This, along with the newly found spirit of community and self-reliance, has shown how positives can come from an otherwise dreadful situation.

At Hyphen we are now seeing our offices starting to open, albeit with social distancing and new ways of working. Equipped with bright neon gaffer tape, our team in Berlin opted for a basketball court theme when marking-up the office to meet social distancing guidelines – we are architects after all. We’ve also introduced new hygiene procedures in line with government advice.

At the time of writing, it appears that our teams in the UK, Madrid and Santiago will be a few weeks behind our colleagues in Europe but hopefully all offices will open soon and we will take our first steps in the post-Covid-19 world. Whilst much will have changed, and we have prepared new business plans and projections to reflect this, our company ethos remains the same. We will continue to support clients and endeavour to provide the same quality service, wherever and however we can. It has been a source of great pride to me, as CEO of The Hyphen Group, to see how colleagues across our seven offices have rallied round to support one another during the crisis. The coming months and years will no doubt be tough, but the crisis has shown that we have a great foundation on which to rebuild.”
